Hankyoreh Publishing Company delivers sharp insight and explores the sensibilities of the time by publishing non-fiction works by Korea’s key opinion leaders like Hong Se-hwa, Park No-ja, and Pomnyun Sunim, as well as literary works by writers like Gong Ji-young, Sim Yun-kyung, and Park Min-gyu. Launched in 1996, the Hankyoreh Literary Prize serves as a gateway for talented young writers—previous winners include Yun Ko-eun, Choi Jin-young, Chang Kang-myong, Kang Hwa-gil, and Park Seo-ryeon. This year marks its 26th anniversary.
At Hankyoreh, we believe that overseas publication can be achieved through successful exchange among writers, publishers, and copyright holders. We have introduced a number of Korean literary works overseas, including Sim Yun-kyung’s Seol, Chang Kang-myung’s The Bleached, and Kang Hwa-gil’s Other People. We’d like to take this opportunity to interact directly with publishers from different parts of the world, venture into the global market, and seek a new way forward.
