Changbi began as a literary journal in 1966. Since 1974, we have published over 3,000 titles in various fields including literature, humanities, social science, culture, YA, and children’s books. Every year, we publish about 270 new titles. Hailed as one of the most respected publishers in Korea, Changbi continues to expand its role as a cradle of high-quality books that help people become more cultured and refined.

In response to unwavering love and support from our readers, we publish works selected by our top-tier editorial staff. In this age of knowledge, information, and culture, Changbi aims to establish itself as a repository of wisdom attuned to global trends that opens up a new future. We have already introduced a number of books overseas, including Han Kang’s The Vegetarian, Hwang Sok-yong’s Princess Bari, Sohn Won-pyung’s Almond, and Shin Kyung-sook’s Please Look After Mom. We look forward to having fruitful discussions with international publishers and promoting Korean contents through the Online Publishers Roundtable.
