Angry Robot Books is an award-winning publisher of science - fiction, fantasy, and horror fiction. Established originally in Nottingham in 2009, now based in London, where we operate as an imprint of Watkins Media, alongside Watkins Publishing, Repeater Books and Nourish. We have helped launch the careers of some of contemporary SFF’s most well-known names (e.g Chuck Wendig, Kameron Hurley, Megan E. O’Keefe, Lauren Beukes), as well as publishing some of the most important authors of earlier eras (e.g Jeff Noon, Christopher Hinz). Our titles and authors have won some of the most prestigious prizes in the SFF world, including the Hugo, the Compton Crook Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, Dragon Award, and the Arthur C. Clarke Award. All our books are published simultaneously in paperback and e-book, and are sold in the UK and across the world thanks to a distribution deal with Penguin Random House.

We hope that this program will allow us to further our relationship with Korean publishers and authors, find opportunities to present the best of Korean science fiction, fantasy & horror to English-speaking audiences. The opportunity to meet and form direct connections with Korean publishers and literary agents offered by this program would be invaluable, and we hope it would allow us to develop ongoing relationships that help us tap into the best and brightest talent in the Korean literary scene.

I read and enjoy books across the entire spectrum of science fiction/fantasy/horror publishing, from the very commercial through to more thoughtful, literary work, and I have a particular taste for weird mushroom books, love stories, and body horror.

We would hope that participation in the program would ultimately result in a number of acquisitions in the coming years that are a good fit for Angry Robot and our dedicated audience, and allow us to present vital, fresh voices from South Korea to a very willing readership.
